KAT VON D - Metal Matte Eyeshadow Palette

Image
Ever since I saw an empty version of this palette on Trendmoods Instagram I knew it would be a great palette and I would have to have it. I already own the shade and light eye contour palette and the formula of those shadows are great, so I was exited to see if the formula was the same. I  have to say I wasn’t immediately blown away with the colour selection. I thought to myself that it had too much colour and not enough neutrals, but I realised thats not what this palette is for. I missed out on the Mi Vida Loca Palette last year and I still regret it, so I thought to myself I had to have this palette and I am so glad that I got it. The packaging of this palette is very nice. The fact that the name Metal turns to Matte when you turn the palette upwards to downwards is very clever. Although I wouldn't consider this a travel friendly palette due to its size its an impressive value for money. In the Uk on the Debenhams Website the Shade and Light Eye Contour Palette goes

U R B A N D E C A Y - Ultimate Naked Basics Palette

Image
Probably one of Urban Decays biggest launches this year was their fall collection. It included their moon dust palette, eyeliners and then it shortly followed by what Urban Decays fans had been waiting for, the all matte (but not really) Ultimate Naked Basics Palette.  I have to say that the packaging is stunning. It is plastic however it looks more substantial than the other naked basics palette due to the colour and design. The colour selection is great, and even contains some colours that I don't consider basic. When you look back at the other two Naked Basics Palettes they have made, I would consider those basic. The browns and the lights yellow/peach shades. In this palette there are hints of colour. Something that wouldn't be considered a neutral, in my opinion, a couple of years ago would be the terracotta orange shade, then a dark burgundy colour. In a way this palette, made even obvious due to having 12 shades, gives you more variety with which looks you can c

Just a quick post to show you guys my three go to autuminal looks. These looks are all without eyeliner, so they are super easy if you decide you like them. These were done in under two minutes so they are perfect if you wan to throw something on in a hurry. (BTW I know my brows are terrible but I did these before going in the shower.)  This first look is very sinple and only takes one palette and three eyeshadows. I used the Too Faced Swwep Peach Palette. I know this palette is making a come back, and I highly recommend it. I lightly buffed the shade Puree in the crease, added Summer Yum to define the crease and the inner and outer corners of the eye. Then for a pop of brightness I used Nectar  in the center of the lid and the center of the lower lash line.   This look is a little more dramatic however with a flawless base and a nude lip its the perfect vampy look for this fall. This only took 2 affordable products. on the lid I used the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in the

This month I feel as though I haven't bought that much makeup, but I actually have. Oh gosh, darn it. I always blame Youtube for this happening as if I never watched Youtube I would never know what new products are out, and never feel the need to buy things the moment they come out. it's turned me into a makeup addict, and I cannot lie, I love it. This month has been all about Urban Decay. They have come out with a bunch of new products over the past two months and it got my makeup senses tingling. I had to just re-purchase the Naked Concealer because I used my old one all up. Before I knew it it was done with and I didn't even know how to do my face without it, and that's when I knew, that I couldn't be without this product. I use this in the shade Fair Neutral which is too light for me however I use it to highlight the under-eye and my t-zone as there is where I naturally highlight and most of the time get blemishes and this is the best pigment, and lasti

Something that isn't a necessity, but something that I really needed doing. De - potting palettes. I own a lot of eyeshadow and face palettes and some of them really need a good clear out. I bet all of us make up junkies have a very ugly looking palette that we don't even look at anymore because it's so beat up. I have wanted to invest in a Z-Palette for a long while, however never really felt like I needed it (plus I was a little scared of messing things up). I have a few pans of the Make Up Geek shadows that are still in their packaging that I don't really reach for anymore because they are too flimsy for me to bother with since I have shadows that are stuck in an actual palette. I bought the Z-Palette in the black colour and in the large size. I actually have enough to fill it. I also got the de-potting spatula which will help me take pans out of old palettes. Knowing myself I'd probably use a knife and end up damaging the makeup, or worse, myself. I

It feels like I have been nothing but buying make up recently and I have decided that after this I am going to take a step back I get my hands on the Urban Decay Moondust Pallete! Anyway this is just a blog post about the few things I have picked up over month ago. First I want to get the morning one out of the way (something that isn't make up I consider boring sorry!) and those are the Skyn Blemish dots. I have been wanting to try something like these because during that fabulous time of the month spots pop up over night it seems. What these are are stickers essentially and they are coated with salicystic acid which help to reduce redness and the swelling of the spot. I use these after I cleanse my face at night, and let them work until I wake up. They do work in the terms of reducing the redness and maybe the slight appearance and texture of the swelling but it doesn't help get rid of the spot.  Now onto the three Jouer Cosmetics items that I got. I got the fr

The palette that everybody went crazy for. I have had this palette now for about a month and I can see what the hype is about. This palette is the first permanent eyeshadow palette that ABH has released. Their eyeshadows have always been a limited edition thing and if you have been an avid collector of these palettes you know that the quality has been getting better with every palette, and as far as this one goes the quality is pretty great. Something a lot of people have had mixed reviews about is the packaging. A lot of what U have seen online is that they really like it. I personally hate this packaging. This is only because I really don't like the feeling of velvet / suede. Since its a material I can see it getting very dirty very quickly, and i have seen this as youtube who have just bought it have gotten it dirty just a couple of moments after. As you can see this is a very warm toned palette. I personally like my cool toned shadows however its good that I now have

My Love for the Jaclyn Hill x Becca Collection

So Something That wasn’t really meant to happen was that I made another Sephora order. I have never made more than two orders in one month however when something LiMITED EDITION comes out you guys know I have to get on the band wagon. The main reason why I made my second Sephora order was because Becca came out with the split pan highlight and blush compact.  This makes me sound that I am obsess with with Jaclyn Hill as I have been hunting for everything that she has done wth Becca. I just have ti say I do watch Jaclyn and I do like her videos however her videos don’t really look like anything different from a lot of other beauty “gurus” on youtube. I do however like what she and becca have created together. I do own Beccas original highlighter in the shade moonstone and I love it. What made me invest in Champagne pop was partially the fact that there was ALOT of hype about it within the beauty community but also, I was on the hunt for a peach highlight. I own one of the NARS

5 Products I Would Re-Purchase

I test out a lot of make up. Even though I don't get sent anything I have a tendency to buy anything that says new or limited edition on it. I obviously can't love everything that comes out or even if I do, there are some staple products in my collection that are just things I cannot live without.  Still Stay All Day Waterproof Eyeliner - This eyeliner in my opinion is the best I have tried, and I have been wearing eyeliner ever since I was in high school. So I would say about 8 years of nearly everyday wear. I know what works for me personally and what doesn't. My eyes I would say are partially hooded, so you can still see some lid space. This eyeliner glides on and lasts all day. If I am working 8+ hours it looks exactly like it did in the morning. The only downside which people might have (but I don't really mind) is that it's more of a satin finish rather than matte. I don't mind as its easy felt tip applicator and its also lasts for months.

The Jaclyn Hill X Becca Collaboration Face Palette

Image
As you may have seen in my last blog post I got my hands on the coveted Jaclyn Hill x Becca Collaboration Face Palette. I do believe that you can no longer get this online on Sephora or on SpaceNk in the Uk. I saw a post on instagram the other day which I was just scrolling through that a girl got one in a store about a week and a half ago now, so if you want one of these go into the stores. I bought mine as soon as it became back in stock, actually put on alarms, as when this came back I was in work. I had 45 minutes break and that break ended 15 minutes before this palette become back in stock. Before I went all crazy and making excuses that I had trouble in the toilets or pull a sick I just checked the website if they got stocked a little early. I actually felt lucky for once as of course this was in stock and I nabbed it. The palette is amazing and feels super luxury (well its from Becca duh). Its not made out of super expensive materials or anything but it is
