Desi x Katy Dose of Colours Collection Review

Image
When I first heard about this collection I was all over this. Desi Perkins is my number one when it comes to youtube videos. I think she is so beautiful and genuine, so I knew anything she would come out with would be the bomb. I had alarms dedicated to this launch and timed it right to the second when it would launch. Lucky for me I finished work at 3pm and the launch was 10am pacific eastern standard time which is 6pm in the Uk so I was ready, and waiting at my laptop.I have to give Dose of Colours mega probs for the checkout. I got everything that I really wanted and paid with no problem and got a confirmation about 10minutes later. My only con about the whole thing was shipping. I had to wait almost a month for it to arrive, which is the longest I've ever had to wait for a package from the US. I also had to pay £19 in duty and customs which was a pain. So in the end, I had to pay around £60 for everything. Which is what I paid in dollars initially. The Packaging really ...

My Top 5 Nude Lipsticks

Image
Following my recent blog post of my top 5 red lipsticks, I have decided to also share my top 5 nudes. I wear these on most days rather than a red lip, so you might already have these in your collections. My most favourite nude that I own is the Nudestix Lip and Cheek Pencil in the shade Whisper. When I do not want to wear a bronzed look I go for this shade. It's a perfect nude for when I am wearing a neutral or cool toned look. When I go out I often wear this shade as, although it isn't a long-wearing formula, It's a lipstick and liner in one so I can just throw it in my bag. I also love it as a blush. The fanciest nude shade that I own is the Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick in the shade Kim KW. When I first saw this shade I thought that it might be too nude for me, but I bought it and found that it's the perfect peachy pink shade. This is the nude shade that I wear when I am slightly tanned and when in wearing a bronzed look. This is a shade I wear i...

My Top 5 Red Lipsticks.

You can never go wrong with a red lip in my opinion. If I have to face the outside world and have no idea what to do with my face, I will skip the perfect eyeshadow look to a simple wing and a classic red lip. I own a lot of lip products and I have a fair few red shades from different brands with different formulas. These will be my personal top recommendations for anyone who is looking for a statement red lip. Mac Ruby Woo For anyone who knows anything about the beauty industry, Macs Ruby Woo Retro Matte bullet lipstick is a cult classic. It's a blue based red making it a really versatile shade that suits everyone. I have seen this shade on multiple skin tones with multiple looks, and its safe to say if you haven't found your red shade yet, give this a go. The only downside I would have to say with this particular lipstick is that it's quite drying. I am a massive lover of liquid lipsticks so I can tough out the dryness, however, if this is an issue for you I w...

Kat Von D - Thin formula and dries quickly, clings on to the lips. One of the best formulas that are on the market in my opinion. Kat Von D has been out in the USA on Sephora for a few years now and to start off with I remember they were selling out like hot cakes. I don't really remember any other brand that sold liquid lipsticks getting as much hype as Kat Von D at that time and for good reason. The cult favourite shade from her line is called Lolita. The formula has been changed twice now for it to be made vegan. I own the latest of the formulation so I cannot compare it to the other two versions, however, it's still one of the top selling shades in her line. I have shades from the lightest to the darkest in the line, and I have to say the formula stays pretty much consistent. The darker shades need a little extra work however once you get it on it lasts for hours. These are the longest wearing liquid lipsticks I own so that's a plus, however, what comes with time...

January Favourites

It has been a while since I last blogged, but I have been feeling a little uninspired. I want to make my blog more... me, and I still haven't found my own style as of yet, but I will get there. I thought I would get back into the swing of things and start dedicating to actually posting a favourite product post each month. I don't really have a lot of makeup products as I've just been using the same things quite often. I do however have a couple, and I will be re-purchasing these when they run out. The first are two products from Urban Decay. The first is the green colour correcting fluid, and I use this on my cheeks and nose. In the morning my face becomes quite red after rubbing in skincare and nothing covers it up completely, however using this does even it out a little and it really helps. Next is a cult classic, the Urban Decay Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer. It claims to be crease-proof, it still does on my but when set it doesn't budge. I use the...

Accidental Beauty Haul. (Cult Beauty + Nordstrom)

It feels like I have been nothing but buying make up recently and I have decided that after this I am going to take a step back I get my hands on the Urban Decay Moondust Pallete! Anyway this is just a blog post about the few things I have picked up over month ago. First I want to get the morning one out of the way (something that isn't make up I consider boring sorry!) and those are the Skyn Blemish dots. I have been wanting to try something like these because during that fabulous time of the month spots pop up over night it seems. What these are are stickers essentially and they are coated with salicystic acid which help to reduce redness and the swelling of the spot. I use these after I cleanse my face at night, and let them work until I wake up. They do work in the terms of reducing the redness and maybe the slight appearance and texture of the swelling but it doesn't help get rid of the spot.  Now onto the three Jouer Cosmetics items that I got. I got the fr...

American Beauty Haul

You might have seen in a previous blog post that I had made a Shop and Box order, and after my final payment it came within two days. Yes, no joke two days. I received my order in two separate boxes just so that the shipping costs wouldn't be as much. Personally I wouldn't make another shop and box order just because I think I got what I wanted from the States for a while. The first item I put on my wishlist was the Lorac Pro Palette. I am going to make a separate blog post all about this palette and my opinion on it. I will however touch on the primer quickly. I think that it rivals the urban decay primer that it has a tint of colour and although the urban decay primer is a little more silky, the loran primer is a little sticky. Some people won't like this however I think that its great for shadows that have glitter chunks and even if you want to build intensity of a lid shade without spraying a little fix plus into the mix. I cannot comment on longevity, but I ha...

My Shop And Box Order

Image
Being in the Uk I lust over all of the amazing cosmetic brands in America, and other parts of the world. Why is everything that you want so hard to get? I follow a lot of make up inspiration accounts on Instagram and see all of these photos on Pinterest and I decided that I wanted to make a Shop and Box order.  Shop and Box is a website that connects you to several people from around the world that will be able to buy your items for you and ship it to your address. You pay invoice 1 which is the cost off all the items you want to buy, then there is invoice two which is the shoppers fee and the postage to yourself. Throughout the whole process you are able to message the boxer (the person who buys your items) and they can update you on when they went to get your products and so on and so forth. My experience took a little longer than expected as my boxer got involved in a car crash, however her and her son are now ok, so I still haven't received my items yet, however they have ...
