A Little Something Extra

I am actually writing this section post even before I have received the palette. Why? Because I feel like I need to talk about the BeautyBay website and how checking out the palette went. So, on the 28th of September, the Jaclyn Hill x Morphe Collaboration Palette launched on the BeautyBay website. Jaclyn snap-chatted that the launch would happen at 9 is on the website. I was working that day and I only get 45 mins break. I checked the website 8:30 am and the palette was already on there, and I later found out it was an early access for registered members. I added it to my cart, and it wouldn't let me sign in. I, therefore, created new account thinking that I must have changed my password and forgot, but no, it wouldn't let me sign into the new one either. I was there for half an hour until the page suddenly came up as being out of stock. When I first heard about this collection I was all over this. Desi Perkins is my number one when it comes to youtube videos. I think she is so beautiful and genuine, so I knew anything she would come out with would be the bomb. I had alarms dedicated to this launch and timed it right to the second when it would launch. Lucky for me I finished work at 3pm and the launch was 10am pacific eastern standard time which is 6pm in the Uk so I was ready, and waiting at my laptop.I have to give Dose of Colours mega probs for the checkout. I got everything that I really wanted and paid with no problem and got a confirmation about 10minutes later. My only con about the whole thing was shipping. I had to wait almost a month for it to arrive, which is the longest I've ever had to wait for a package from the US. I also had to pay £19 in duty and customs which was a pain. If you saw my last post you'll know that I picked this palette up when it launched on the 14th of this month. It has taken a couple of months but it's finally available at Debenhams stores here in the Uk. Where I live, in North Wales, we do not have a Kat Von D or a TooFaced counter so swatching this before I bought it was impossible. I watched some youtube videos and I thought that I had to have it since nothing like this has happened before. this being when two similar makeup brands come together to create a product. First on the packaging. I personally thought it would be bigger than it is. The quantity of product you get is very nice and if you saw my last post I mentioned that the palette on its own is worth £22 making each shadow in the palette around £1.80. During January there were a lot of beauty launches, and I feel as though when things get announced the Us markets will be able to sell it within a month if not 3 weeks. For myself I would have to make a Sephora order and pay up to £30 in shipping and taxes to get my hands on newly released gems, and I have done so a few times, however this year I am inclined to wait, if I know a 100% that they will be bringing them to the Uk. So this is a collective haul that I have bought from various websites, that include, Asos, Beautybay and Debenhams. The first product that I the most excited to start using is the TooFaced x Kat Von D Better Together Palette. This was only launched in the Uk on the 14th of February when it was released in the US before the holiday season. My main motivation for purchasing this is because I haven't seen two companies come together in friendship like this to make a range of products. This may be my biggest sephora haul to date however I am going away to visit a friend in London next month so I wanted to pick up some limited edition make up that I wanted before I start saving up my pennies when I go to the big city. The star of the show I guess would be the Jaclyn Hill x Becca Face Palette which has been on my wishlist ever since I saw it. I think i’ll make a more in-depth post about this single palette as it very much deserves it. It comes with the legendary champagne pop highlight which everyone and their mother, father and dog should own, 3 blush shades and described by Jaclyn to be Champagne pops little sister Prosecco Pop. This highlight is more of a golden shade, more gold than moonstone and would probably be a close call to opal even though I do not own this shade.
