My Autumn Faves

Image
As I have neglected to include favorites posts for a couple of months I thought I would create a post about my autumn faves. I have recently discovered that I have been in a make up rut. Ive basically been going for the same kind of look. Full coverage, bronze lids and a 90's tone lips. When Mac came out with their Vamplify Collection I knew that I wanted to make a cheeky purchase, however by the time I actually had the chance to go to my nearest Mac counter the original shade that I wanted was sold out, and even sold out online. However I had come all the way there and I wanted to get some other shade. The girl at the counter gave me this mauve raspberry brown shade gloss called Tuned In. I really like this if I don't really know what to wear that day and its a really quick and easy gloss to throw on and have it last for hours. Another lip product that I tip my hat to are the Rouge Edition Velvets from Bourjois Paris. These ar great drugstore liquid lipsticks. They h

Current Top 5 Tv Shows (2)

A few tv shows I have been loving recently. Towards the end of the year there are a lot of shows that peek my interest. After Game of Thrones ends in the summer I have an empty void of Tv shows that gets filled in the Autumn/ Winter. The Walking Dead Super popular show thats currently airing its 6th season. I have loved this show from the beginning. If you like zombie apocalypses this is great. Starts off with ex-cop Rick Grimes as he wakes up from a comma to find that the world isn't as he expected. Zombies locked behind chained doors, bodies wrapped out in the streets and then his on going journey to go find his family. The seasons follow his emotional story as the lead character. You never know which character you are going to loose next, a bit like Game of Thrones. You never know because it could be rivalry between other people, sickness, wounds or even... you guessed it, the living dead. This is a great show if you want something a little more than zombies, gunfire and

Smashbox #Shapematters Palette

Image
A recent purchase that I have been using on the daily is the Smashbox #Shape Matters Palette. I didn't really know anything about Smashbox releasing a new palette for the holidays. I am not an avid Smashbox follower as all I've ever used from them was the Double Exposure Palette which was an impulsive buy.   Anyways, on to the palette. The palette was enclosed within a paper box shown in the photo above. Inside there is the palette and a pack of cards. Inside there is a pack that comes with written tutorials on each aspect of the palette, brows, eyes and face. These are called the interactive get the look cards. The tutorials are available online on youtube I believe. I haven't watched them yet Inside of the palette you get two brow shades and a wax. The brow shades are light for me. If it was summer and my hair was a little lighter then they would work well for a subtle brow filling, however I find myself having to use that dark matte brown eyeshadow in  the

Highstreet Haul

I know I have been lacking on the post recently, I can only say that there is a good reason, and Ill be showing it on here soon.. That doesn't mean that I didn't do a little shopping on my days off however. The shopping bug hasn't really bitten me as much since I have been back home in Wales. Perhaps its the face that there are barely any shops here and I hate online shopping.  Batiste used to be one of my favorite dry shampoo brands, thats until CoLab took over. However that doesn't make them not good. When I saw that the brand recently launched some new products I was all over it. They have brought out a texturizing spray and a smoothing spray. I have thick hair that has natural volume so I don't really have any use for the texturizing, however I was in need of something with smoothing properties. So I picked up the frizz tamer. This stuff works! It lasts all day keeping flyaways .. well away, smells so good and adds shine! Highly recommend! I cave

Cheeky High-End Splurge

Image
It isn't often that I buy a lot of high end make up in one go however I made a cult beauty order and just so happened to visit a Mac Counter the day after, so it just so happens I went all out. No regrets and that. I'll start off with the items that I got in Mac. I was only going to go there for a red lip pencil (I was only going to get are always those famous last words aren't they?) but I got a couple of extra pretty things. I got the all so raved about Mac Pro Longer Concealer in NW15. This concealer is super light which makes it perfect for under the eyes to brighten and to hide those dark circles. I have found that a whole pump is a little too much for me, even for a whole face, and I do find that I need to set it with a translucent powder as it stays tacky for a while after the initial application. Next thing I got was Macs Soft and Gentle. This was a recommendation from my friend Zoe who said that it was a perfect golden highlighter with a high impact, and

June & July Favorites

Image
Last month I didn't upload a favorites post as I didn't really have anything new that I started to love that month. It takes me a long time to decide if I truly love a product ready enough to put it into an in-depth post, unless the first time I try it and I am obsessed straight off the bat.  My first favorite is a perfect no make up make up product.  BareMinerals Complexion Rescue Hydrating Tinted Cream Gel  in the shade Opal. I feel like I can wear this even if I have a few blemishes. Pop on a bit of concealer and I feel so fresh faced and look so healthy and hydrated. It doesn't cling to my dry patches and it somehow just goes over my pores making it look like I have a flawless base but it still shows my freckles. Something that most beauty addicts have is an Urban Decay Naked Palette . I have Naked 2 and Naked 3 and the Basics, but recently I have been showing some love to my first baby, Naked 2. For some reason I always go back to this when it is the summer

Well It's Been A While ...

Dear Blog and Readers, I have been neglecting the blog and everything since I finished University. I am happy to report that through all of the hardships and all the work I have passed and officially graduation early November (YAY!). However since being back home I have become a bit unenthusiastic. I live in a small town in North Wales that is very different compared to Chester where I lived for three years. There will be a few big things in the works for the next few month so I am back on the blogging wagon as I actually have something to talk about now. I hope you stay tuned ... Many Thanks.

My Top Brush Cleansers

Image
I do have a post that is similar to this however I have discovered a few new ways of cleaning my brushes and a few new products to use. How often do I clean my brushes? For me it depends, I deep clean ( shampoo, with antibacterial and leave them overnight to dry) my face brushes every two - three weeks. I have a lot of brushes so I tend to use a clean one if the one I am currently using gets a little too dirty. For eye brushes I spot clean. To deep clean my brushes I have found a lot of different products to use. Things like Fairy Liquid, baby shampoo, or any shampoo, soaps can be used. What I personally use is the 18 uses Dr Bronners Magic Soap. This is antibacterial, so it can get rid of the gunk thats been in some of my brushes for weeks out. The problem that I have found with this product is however in that it doesn't get stains out. Some heavy duty or heavily pigmented foundations or other products stain the white fibers of the brush. What I use to fix thi

Bourjois New La Laque Nail Polish Review.

Image
When Bourjois came out with a new nail polish I had to investigate... and I had the good instinct to do so. These polishes are like nothing I've ever tried. They are really watery however they are super pigmented and fast drying. The first thing that caught my eye was the packaging as they are unlike anything I've seen. They have an unusual triangle bottle which at first I found difficult to hold when first trying to apply the polish, however once you get a hold of it correctly it becomes easy. It is actually super comfortable to hold compared to circular lids as it ensures no slippage. The triangular shape of the bottle also forms a circle when four polishes are put together as seen in the photo below, which I think when tied around like a bow would make a nice little gift. The colours that I picked up are shown below. There are also some suggestions if you cannot get these polishes in your local area like mine, which stock Bourjois but not their nail polish. Th

Current Top 5 Tv Shows

Image
I am not an avid Tv watcher. I would consider myself mostly to be a film buff however there are those series that I do watch on the annual yearly basis. I do prefer the Netflix version of bindge watching shows however I do have shows here that I have to watch weekly.. to my despair. So I thought I would share my current 5 shows that I am enjoying at the moment.   Game Of Thrones Ever since the first series I have been hooked on the Tv Show. I haven't read the books, well I did make it through half of the first novel however they are so big! Think Lord of the Rings with a lot of bloodshed and sex. It first got me hooked for having Sean Bean in the first season,  so I watched it and was hooked and sinker. I have even got some mercy of the show which is something I don't do. I have cups, coasters and posters and all the seasons on dvd. This is on the top of the list for recommending for people. I think there is something in it for everyone, including politics. Give it a go!

As you might have seen in my recent haul, well in one of my most recent hauls anyway, you would have seen that I got the Illamasqua primer. It is one of the best on the market as they say. Who says that I have no clue, however they were right! I have never been a huge primer person however I do struggle in keeping my make up on through the day. If I do want longer lasting make up I go for the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation whit usually lasts all day, but sometimes I want a lighter coverage, and an even lighter feeling. The texture of this primer is like none other out there, and for this reason alone it can be understood why its a cult product. When opening the packaging you get a little spoon that you mix the primer with. It forms a jelly texture that you take a small scoop of and then apply. My technique of using this product would be to apply it onto my finger, mush it up between my fingertips and apply all over the face. Some might say just to apply it in the problem ares h
