The Morphe 39A Palette. Review & Swatches.

Image
When I saw this palette my jaw dropped. I loved the idea of having a larger pan for transitions. I was gutted to find out, however, that it was a morphe website exclusive. I would have thought it would become available on the BeuatyBay website but they have only decided to stock the rest of the Chrismas items and not this. I then went on the Morphe website just to see how it would be for shipping, and it was almost the same amount as the actual palette so, I decided not to get it. I later found out they had a dedicated website for the Uk, where it was free shipping over a certain amount, and that's how I finally got it. Being from an artist background, I love how it just looks like a paint palette. The possibilities are endless with this palette and I am super excited to start using it for myself and clients. Morphe has recently decided to rebrand so everything looks so much sleeker, and the colours even have names now. The palette is more expensive ...

Bargain Buys vol 1

Image
Ok, let's just get this out of the way, but I never used to be a bargain hunting kinda gal. I always save my money and splurge on the higher end things in life, but now I discovered something. I found an app called Depop and it's just like eBay in a way, however, I feel like the sellers are a lot more hands-on when it comes to selling and replying to comments. So as I've stated I am trying to branch out as a freelance makeup artist, so after watching/ reading a lot about becoming one I knew it wasn't going to be cheap. Luckily I do have a full-time job to start building up my collection but, I am going to have to buy quite a lot.  Since I didn't want to use anything out of my personal collection (I have LOADS of makeup that I've only used once so it's easily sanitized) I, shamefully, looked on eBay to build up my collection. While I was scrolling through couldn't get myself to buy anything because I don't trust the makeup on there, and I wou...

My Drugstore Recommendations

Image
So if you’re a reader of my blog I often only mention high-end products. The only reason I can justify this is that I only really buy makeup online. I live in a town in Wales where the only store with any real selection of makeup is Boots, and it's not a really big store either. So the selection of makeup I have at my disposal in person is quite limited. If I am going to buy drugstore makeup, ill make an online boots order as its free delivery if you collect in store. Something that I always have in my personal makeup bag, and probably something ill buy for my freelancing kit (let me know if you want a blog post on this) is the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. I have been using this concealer for years and it's my go to if I need to cover blemishes as well as dark circles. The only downsize to this product is the shade range. It only comes in 4 shades and they only range to fair-medium-ish. However the pros far out-way the negatives as its only £4.99 and th...

Kat Von D Shade & Light Glimmer Eyeshadow Palette Review + Swatches.

Image
If you saw my last blog post you'll know that I bought the Shade and Light Glimmer Palette by Kat Von D. The main reason why I wanted this so bad was because it claims to have 4 different finishes in one palette, and it also goes along with the first matte palette.  Can we talk about the packaging? The outside carton is so nice the way it shines in the light. The font is exactly the same as it is on the original shade and light, the differences are that the glimmer palette has the glitter accents, and the original has the gold and black lacquered embossed letters. The Glimmer palette has plastic packaging compared to the Shade and Light Matte Palette which has the cardboard packaging. I have to say I think that although the stand out letters looks really nice, I can't help but feel as if I like the cardboard packaging more. At first glance, you'd think it was the same palette, however, the finishes are completely different, and out of this word gr...

Another, Kat Von D Beauty Haul.

Image
Debenhams is the only retailer in the Uk that stocks Kat Von D beauty products. Sometimes when something limited edition like the Saint and Sinner palette ill make sure I've saved money for it and purchase it from Sephora, however, when you know something permanent is on the line, and it's going to come to the Uk soon, I'll wait until it's in Debenhams. Something that I've wanted to try for a while are the Everlasting lip liners. They have been available in Sephora for quite a while and its taken months for it to become available over here in the Uk, so when I was browsing the other day and saw them, I knew I had to pick one up to test out the formula. Then that obviously led to me buying a couple of other things as well...oops.  I picked up the lip liner in the shade Lolita. I already own the liquid lipstick version of this and love it. I thought this would be a great everyday lipliner as it doesn't really need to be paired with the liquid lipstick...

Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Palette Review & Swatches

Image
I am actually writing this section post even before I have received the palette. Why? Because I feel like I need to talk about the BeautyBay website and how checking out the palette went. So, on the 28th of September, the Jaclyn Hill x Morphe Collaboration Palette launched on the BeautyBay website. Jaclyn snap-chatted that the launch would happen at 9 is on the website. I was working that day and I only get 45 mins break. I checked the website 8:30 am and the palette was already on there, and I later found out it was an early access for registered members. I added it to my cart, and it wouldn't let me sign in. I, therefore, created new account thinking that I must have changed my password and forgot, but no, it wouldn't let me sign into the new one either. I was there for half an hour until the page suddenly came up as being out of stock. My heart sank, as I had been trying to check out nearly for all of my breaks, and they don't have a customer service line either so I co...

Kat Von D Saint & Sinner Palette Review

Image
Ok, so it might look like I am spending a ton, but my last haul was the last month, as it took so long to get here.  I have to address if you have read the blog post before this one, you'll know I am all about the limited edition palettes. When I first saw this palette I have to admit that I didn't really immediately fall in love with the shade selections. The packaging is phenomenal, but the shades I found to be a bit meh as they are not traditionally grouped together to similar tones, and they are a little all over the place. I knew I was going to buy it because I have a thing where the lusting after the limited edition holiday palette by Kat Von D just gets to me. What got me super excited was her swatch video on her youtube ( here ). The shades have so many different finishes and dimension that it just had me drooling. The con I feel like for the palette was the release date. They announced the palette and then two weeks later it was coming out. I ...

Desi x Katy Dose of Colours Collection Review

Image
When I first heard about this collection I was all over this. Desi Perkins is my number one when it comes to youtube videos. I think she is so beautiful and genuine, so I knew anything she would come out with would be the bomb. I had alarms dedicated to this launch and timed it right to the second when it would launch. Lucky for me I finished work at 3pm and the launch was 10am pacific eastern standard time which is 6pm in the Uk so I was ready, and waiting at my laptop.I have to give Dose of Colours mega probs for the checkout. I got everything that I really wanted and paid with no problem and got a confirmation about 10minutes later. My only con about the whole thing was shipping. I had to wait almost a month for it to arrive, which is the longest I've ever had to wait for a package from the US. I also had to pay £19 in duty and customs which was a pain. So in the end, I had to pay around £60 for everything. Which is what I paid in dollars initially. The Packaging really ...
