The Lorac Pro Palette. Is It Worth All The Hype?

I feel like everyone owns this palette, and for those who don't, need it! When I first received this palette my first impressions were O.M.G.

To get the boring bit out of the way, the packaging is super slim. Its made of cardboard which means its slim and lightweight so this would be a great palette to travel with. However I would never see myself traveling with this as cardboard isn’t solid enough in my mind to protect the product inside, unless I would be super careful in packing with it.

You have the top row which is all matte and then the bottom row which are a mix of satins and metallic. The mates are really wonderful and the quality really doesn’t compare to the many other palettes that I own. I have allot of shadows from Urban Decay and the mattes in these palettes compared to these seem chalky. the shimmers, which are super buttery as well, have a lot of fall out. This even happens with the mattes. This is why I would never travel with it as I can just see the product cracking and making a mess everywhere.

One of my main concerns is that because I can see myself using this palette a lot that it won't last me for as long as I hoped. For myself this was a pain to get as I had to use a shipping service to get it from the US to the Uk. The pans are pretty small and I have already created a dent in one of my already favorites which is called Mauve. I am not sure why I love this colour so much as I have something similar in the Naked 3 Palette however I didn’t really take a fancy to that one. The colour range in this palette is perfect for even the most daring to the simplest of looks.

So to wrap up the blog post I’ll go through the ports and cons. Pros, the shadows are richly pigmented and easily bendable, plus a good colour range.

Cons, the pans are small. Even though the colours are easy to blend they don’t last as long on the lid no matter what type of primer I use. I have used it with the Urban Decay Primer and a Mac paint pot. I have yet to try it out using the primer that came with the palette so maybe that is where I am going wrong. I shall have to test this out and see how it wears. Also another con as you will see in the swatches below, the purple shade really doesn't show up as purple. It shows up more as a black tinted with purple which is very annoying considering how lovely it looks in the pan.

All in all I love this palette however I am trying to save it up to use it for a special occasion or an outing somewhere, not at all in day to day life. I have so many palettes that this one is just too special and amazing to abuse it.

Just a couple of swatches from the palette.

If you have any palettes that you treasure in your collection please let me know. Hope you enjoyed this blog post.

Many Thanks x
